Addison Real Estate

A flurry of activity. Festivals and fun. Restaurants galore. Situate yourself in the center of Addison, and you will never be bored! The city of Addison fits snug next to the cities of Carrollton and Plano, and is considered one of the most accommodating cities in the Southwest. Belt Line Road is the main thoroughfare and is lined with just about every restaurant imaginable including Macaroni Grill, Blue Mesa, and Fogo De Chao.

The town of Addison sits in an area that was once called Peters Colony. It was settled as early as 1846, and was not known as Addison until 1902. The town was named after Addison Robertson, who served as the community's second postmaster from 1908 to 1916. The Addison School Building, located on Belt Line Road, was built in 1914. In 1954, the school was annexed and became a part of the Dallas Independent School District. The school was closed in 1964 and is now the Magic Time Machine Restaurant. During the late 1970s and early 1980s, the city of Addison experienced explosive growth, and today, the business and daytime population reaches up to 100,000.

The city of Addison is home to many corporate giants such as Mary Kay Cosmetics, Pizza Hut, and CompUSA, and the Addison Airport, caters to business, private, and chartered flights. Transportation is easy with in and out access to other parts of the metroplex via the nearby North Dallas Tollway.

As word of Addison's vibrant lifestyle and business climate has spread, the uniqueness of the town continues to thrive. Traditional neighborhoods are scarce in this city, but with an Urban Center occupying the center of the city, condominium and multi-family residents can enjoy a fast-paced, entertaining lifestyle. Concerts, festivals, and other outdoor-related activities are sponsored by the city throughout the year, including the annual Kaboom Town fireworks display every July, Oktoberfest every September, and Taste Addison, and The 500, Inc. Artfest each spring.

The city of Addison is served by the Carrollton-Farmers Branch and Dallas Independent School Districts.
