Grapevine Real Estate

All aboard for the City of Grapevine…where Dallas and Fort Worth meet! Probably the most notable attribute of the city is the Grapevine Vintage Railroad which, quite literally, connects the two anchor cities in the metroplex. The historic railroad travels along the Cotton Belt Route between Grapveine and the Fort Worth Stockyards. The Railroad is serviced by two vintage locomotives which include "Puffy" the 1896 Steam locomotive and oldest continuously operating steam engine in the South, and a 1953 GP-7 diesel locomotive.

Grapevine is one of the oldest settlements in North Texas, originating under the Lone Star Flag in 1844, one year before statehood. The settlement's namesake was the tart, wild mustang grapes which grew so abundantly in the area. Today, Grapevine celebrates its history with an extensive restoration project, recognized by the National Register of Historic Places, and an annual GrapeFest, attended by over 160,000 citizens and visitors.

Grapevine is also home to many wineries and tasting rooms. Perhaps most prominent is Delaney Vinyards who, since 1995 has won more than 120 medals in national and international wine competitions.

Main Street is a bustling boulevard of constant activity. Annual fairs and festivals, including the Grapevine Market, and Main Street Days, are just a few of the family-oriented events filling the city's busy calendar. Travel just one mile north of downtown and you'll find Grapevine Lake, offering camping, trails for biking and hiking, water recreation, picnic facilities, and more.

Not only are there plenty of things to do here, the City of Grapevine is a wonderful place to live. It is a rapidly growing, historic community with great schools, wonderful shopping, and beautiful neighborhoods. Unlike many other neighborhoods in the metroplex, Grapevine contains some of the most unique "older" streets in the area. In fact, Texas Monthly has named Glenhope Elementary, Heritage Elementary, Colleyville Middle, and Grapevine and Heritage High Schools to its list of Texas best public schools. The current population is 47,599 and the 2005 estimated average home was valued at $188,318.
