Most of Haltom City is served by the Birdville Independent School District, which has seven elementary schools, two middle schools, one high school, and an alternative school within the Haltom City boundaries. A portion of Haltom City is served by the Fort Worth Independent School District.

For fitness buffs, there's the Haltom City Recreation Center, which features a top-of-the-line fitness center and exercise classes.

Residents love the city's year-round community events, such as SpringFest, which features a bounce house and an Easter Egg Hunt, the Haltom Stampede, and the Haltom Halloween Carnival. Students appreciate the Haltom City Public Library's free homework help, either in person at the library or via their home PC.
