Valley Ranch Real Estate

The name, Valley Ranch, is derived from the very fact that this area in north Texas was once a working ranch, and is located below a large ridge. Originally, the area was part of the Trinity River floodplain, but an extensive levee system on the eastern side separated the river from land, and made it desirable for development. As a result, today's Valley Ranch has many winding canals and walkways throughout the community and is almost completely developed.

Perhaps best known as the training home of "America's team" the Dallas Cowboys, Valley Ranch has blossomed into a bustling community. Now, having nothing to do with ranching or real, rope swinging, bull-riding cowboys, Valley Ranch has a suburban feel and is home to many young families and busy professionals. New housing developments are taking up residence where once cattle roamed, and there is no shortage of luxury apartments, condos, and garden homes, too.

In the early 1800, school district lines were drawn and as a result, the Las Colinas/Valley Ranch hosts two school districts; the Carrollton Independent School District, and the Coppell Independent School District. MacArthur Boulevard (the major north-south thoroughfare through Valley Ranch) serves as the rough dividing line between the two school districts serving the area. Despite being in Irving, it is not served by the Irving Independent School District.

Fast and easy access to the George Bush Turnpike, Highway 114, and I-635, make commuting in and out of the area tolerable, and convenient shopping can be found up and down McArthur Boulevard including many popular retail shops and restaurants.
